AMI Mentoring Group. The structure of the Advocacy Mentorship Initiative (AMI) program is one of cascading mentorship where the 3 or 4 medical students (mentors) are mentors to at-risk youth (mentees), and are in turn mentored by a Psychiatry resident and Adolescent Medicine fellow (residents), forming a mentoring group. The AMI staff (the primary author a Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatrist and Peer Project staff) oversees all mentoring groups and provides additional guidance to the residents and medical students
