Tightly deflate the cuff with a syringe

Lubricate the posterior surface of the cuff

Place yourselves behind the patient

Push their head with the non-dominant arm to achieve extension of their head with flexion of the neck

Hold the LMA like a pen, with the index finger placed at the junction of the cuff and the airway tube

Press the tip of the cuff upward against the hard palate and flatten the cuff against it

Push the jaw downward with your middle finger

Using the index finger, advance the device into the hypopharynx until resistance is definitely felt

Press down on the tube with your non-dominant hand

Remove the index finger

Inflate the cuff with up to 30 mL of air without holding the tube

Connect a self-inflating bag to the tube and ventilate the lungs
