EI-FDI scatter plot. Experience index (EI) and future doctor index (FDI) in (EI, FDI) pairs presented as circles in a scatter plot. Because the values of the questions which produced them were fixed, so are their values and, as a result, there are less circles than the sample size. To illustrate the simple case of the linear relationship between the indices, the least squares line with equation FDI = 0.694EI + 0.22 and R2 = 0.33 is presented in the figure.
