Having a vision and meaning

A conviction that the changes that the PDs were implementing were important and should have a positive impact on the educational quality.

My argument was that we make it good for residents, then we’ll have the best basis for recruitment. So the rumour will go, “yes it is good working at the paediatric clinic”.

Involving colleagues and superiors

A deliberate and repeated attempt to engage people at different levels within the organisation.

We anchored the plans at all clinics. We went out and talked to everyone; management, supervisors and residents. Everyone had to come up with their input.
