From: An evaluation of cascading mentorship as advocacy training in undergraduate medical education

POPULATION

Second year medical students at UofT enrolled in AMI who provided informed consent to participate in the AMI program.

INTERVENTION

Weekly 1.5 h peer mentorship, 2 h monthly discussions with psychiatry and adolescent medicine residents, and 1 h monthly large group teaching sessions.

COMPARISON

Pre-exposure knowledge of youth mental and physical health topics and confidence levels in skills vs. post-exposure knowledge and skill levels.

OUTCOME

Unique experiential learning opportunity to gain advocacy skills.
