After the students were oriented to the experience, they were assigned to role-play either a patient or caregiver and read their given scenarios. They subsequently attended 5 simulated appointments with healthcare professionals in their assigned roles. After the experience, students completed a written reflection and evaluation and then attended a small group reflection and debrief
